Beatrice Blue - The Sun Room (SPARKLE)

The Sun Room is very special to me. It carries all my most valued and beloved paintings and sketches, gouache landscapes and characters, pencil drawings and sometimes notes; things I thought I’d honestly never share. It’s a selection of the pieces that have brought me the most joy and have made me grow the most as an artist during the last years.

About the artist

Beatrice Blue is an author, illustrator and art director working both in books and animated films. She is the creator of the critically acclaimed children books ongoing series, that includes Once upon a Dragon's fire, Once upon a Mermaid's tail, Once Upon a Witch's Broom and Once Upon a Unicorn Horn.

She also published Wonder, the art and practice of Beatrice Blue, presenting her different creative process, and she worked as the Art Director for the recently released series Wolfboy and the Everything Factory for Apple TV+. During her career, she has worked with wonderful companies such as Dreamworks Animation, Disney, Hasbro, Procreate, Nickelodeon, Netflix, PRH, Harper Collins and so many amazing others in fantastic projects.

After a few years of creating personal pieces outside of work, exclusively in traditional media, Beatrice Blue teamed up with us, Caurette Editions, to make a beautiful art book out of them!

Something extra special about this book is that we have decided to make it in the same exact size as Beatrice Blue's actual sketchbook; the one she carry everywhere... This way, the drawing will be presented to you in their truest form!

The Sun Room is a 14,7 x 20,7 cm (5,8 x 8,4 inches) hardcover book and to make it extra special, we chose to have a cloth cover cover with hot stamping that will be beautifully protected by a colour dust jacket! The design of the cover and dust jacket are complementary and present two different stage of the same illustration: just the outline stamped on the cover, and the final design printed on the dust jacket.

Inside, you will see 224 pages of art printed on a very fine Munken Pure Rough 150 g/m² paper giving you the feeling of turning the original sketchbook pages! 

Last but not least, the foreword will be written by Pascal Campion!
