36 pages of gorgeousness! Blues, greys, yellows. Shadows and apparitions. Fierce and tender characters. Brilliant reds, powerful turquoise and shades of black and brown.
Sketches of lean, taciturn men and unyielding women, from mountain trails obscured by snow drifts to fantasy characters prepared to protect and engage in battle without submission.
Snow is notoriously hard to get right, and in Les Couleurs de Tiburce, it is not only done right, you can smell the damp, smell the hard, crisp edges as the darkening skies press close. The intensity of a horsemen's gaze, surrounded by ghouls. It is all so wonderful!
Tiburce Oger is a French artist and writer of mainly fantasy comics. Born in Garenne-Colombes. he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Angoulême for three years. He had his apprenticeship at an animation studio, where he worked on productions like the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and 'Denver the Last Dinosaur' in the early 1990s. His made his debut as a comic artist with the first comic album of the heroic fantasy series 'Gorn', published by Vents d'Ouest.
Tiburce has since gone on to create a number of series, including the western, La piste des ombres, the children's story of the giant Orull, the mysterious Auberge du bout du monde, drawn by Patrick Prugne, and his pictorial version of 'La Forêt', a fantasy story written by actor Vincent Perez. Tiburce continues to surprise with the diversity and originality of his work, and in 2008 he wrote two new albums, Ewen, with Andreï Arinouchkine and Deux Vies with Didier Eberoni, published by Daniel Maghen.
