About the set of prints : A Moment Before
Back in 2015, Moon launched a crowdfunding campaign for his very first artbook: 365 Squares vol. 1. Could he have dreamed that a second volume would be published in 2018, and a third in 2024? Surely not! And yet, here comes the 10-year anniversary of the 365 Squares project!
To celebrate, Moon decided to revisit ten of the original illustrations from this first project and to release them as a set of high quality prints: A Moment Before.
And just as then, the project was the subject of a successful crowdfunding campaign.
For us to admire these artworks in greater detail, these illustrations were drawn on a 21 x 21 cm (9 x 9 inches) sheet of paper, as opposed to the traditional 15 x 15 cm (6 x 6 inches) Squares format. The prints are thus true-to-scale, reproducing the exact size and format of the original drawings!
This set of prints showcases Moon’s versatility as an artist, with each original drawing created using a variety of techniques including inks, watercolors, colored pencils and gel pens.
About the 365 Squares project
365 Squares begins as this crazy idea to draw every day for a year on a 15×15 cm square sheet of paper. Using a variety of tools (graphite, colored pencil, inks, watercolor...) and drawing a variety of subjects (such as nature, women, or dream-like landcapes), each of these 365 illustrations is a journey in Moon's colorful imagination.
About moon
Moon began his career as a graffiti artist in the 90s. After a few years of self-taught drawing, he entered art school, which later led him to work as a graphic design and art director, and then as a graphic design teacher. Under his pseudonym Moon, he is currently devoted to crafting his own personal universe through illustrations and paintings. His creations are mostly gathered under the moniker: "Polychröm Symbiosis", illustrating this vividly dreamlike and surreal world. Moon expresses his universe through various works of art shared on social media, in galleries via solo or group exhibitions, and of course through art books.
