Benjamin Lacombe was born in 1982. As a child, he dreamed of drawing Walt Disney and Tim Burton's films, whose books and videos he collected.
In 2001, he enters the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (ENSAD) where he follows his artistic training. In parallel to his studies, he worked in advertising and animation and at 19 years old, he signed his first comic book, L'esprit du temps, and several other illustrated books.
His end-of-study project, Cerise Griotte, of which he is the author and illustrator, became his first children's book, published by Editions du Seuil in March 2006.
Since then, his hands never stop alternating between pens and brushes, whether in comics or in children's books.
