Luis Esteves - Rust N'Bolts

Rust N' Bolts is more than a collection of sketches and illustrations, it is a source of mecha-inspiration! The imagination of the artist is limitless. A must have if you are passionate about graphic design.

Luis Esteves is a concept artist hailing from Manila, Philippines.  Ever since he was young, he had a powerful fascination for creatures, miniatures and video games.

In 2009, Luis graduated with a BFA in Visual communication from the University of the Philippines and spent the next few years working as a graphic designer.

In 2012, he decided to enroll in Singapore's FZD School of Design to pursue a career in the entertainment art industry.

Since then, he has been residing in Singapore and currently works as a full time concept artist, spending most of his free time sketching and exploring ideas.

PRESENTATION BY THE AUTHOR:

"This book is a collection of robot drawings I made in my sketchbooks between 2015-2017. Most of them were drawn after office hours and during weekends. My usual work process is sketching and inking in traditional medium then coloring the designs digitally.

I kept this practice going so I could loosen up and draw with less restrictions, it was a great way for me to experiment with ideas and actually helped me approach designs at work from a fresh new perspective.

What started out as a fun activity eventually became a bigger project as I received lots of support and encouragement from friends to compile my works into a book. After many sketchbook pages, enquiries and revisions; we finally have Rust N' Bolts-my first robot sketch and illustation book.

I hope you will enjoy looking at these drawings as much as I enjoyed making them."
